Korean 101 is the first half of the beginning Korean language course. This course is designed for those who have no previous (or very limited) knowledge of the Korean language. Emphasis will be placed on the fundamentals of listening, speaking, and the introduction of Korean culture. After mastering the Korean alphabets, students will learn to describe, narrate, and ask/answer simple questions in the three basic tenses (present, past, and future) about themselves, family, and daily activities. By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate with Korean native speakers at basic everyday survival tasks including (1) self-introduction, (2) asking questions, (3) counting numbers, (4) giving directions, (5) expressing needs, and (6) making requests.
